Our Third Vacation to Martha's Vineyard,
(with stops on the way in Delaware, Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut and Rhode Island,
and stops on the way home in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania -- not counting stops just to sleep, of course).
June 23rd to July 19th, 1996
My mom, Joy Sen, and her husband, Bill, invited us to the island again. We had to reserve the ferry way in advance (very typical for the summer), so we planned the rest of our trip around getting to Woods Hole on a certain date, July 2nd, in this case.
We knew we were going to leave Houston on June 23rd, so we had ten days to get to Woods Hole. We decided to stop in several cities and see some things we had been talking about (see below).
The images on these pages were taken with two 35mm film cameras, an old Nikon, using a Nikon 105 mm zoom lens, and a new Pentax point-and-shoot. As in the past, we traded the cameras back and forth freely, so either one of us could have taken any of the pictures. The original prints were fairly grainy, so you can blame that (and my old scanner) for any poor quality shots (certainly not the photographers). ![]()

On the island, we went to a Fourth of July parade, but hung out at my mom's house most of the time. After leaving the island, we went to Plimouth Plantation, near Plymouth, MA; Salem and Rockport, MA; the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, MA; and Intercourse, PA. before heading through Virginia, then home
