Michael and Minay's Trip to Martha's Vineyard (via Vermont and Maine) -- June and July, 1999 -- Index Page

6/6/1999 to 7/4/1999

Minay and I took our usual summer trip to see my mom on Martha's Vineyard, in June of 1999.  This time we drove up into Vermont first, then across into Maine, then down the Maine and Massachusetts coasts to catch the ferry at Woods Hole.  On our way home, we headed down the East Coast and saw Williamsburg and Jamestown before heading west again. The trip is divided into five sections, with each section comprising a several day period of time.

Click on any of the images below to go to a series of pictures for that period.  For now, it's just pictures.  Narration will have to come later.

Our first leg of the journey, from Houston, through the South, then Virginia, Pennsylvania and New York.
Franconia Notch, Kennebunkport, Newburyport, a graveyard, Cape Cod, a ferry ride.  What more could you ask?
Almost two weeks on the island, taking pictures, stenciling, napping, riding in Miatas  . . . and that's just the first four days.
A trip to America, sunsets, sunrises, quilting, stenciling, and more picture taking.
A foggy ferry ride, Williamsburg, Jamestown, a rainy ride through the South, and kudzu.
