Trip to Martha's Vineyard -- Summer 2003 -- Index Page

7/11/2003 to 7/21/2003

Minay and I went to the Vineyard once again, to see my mom.  We would normally take a month and drive across country, but I had retired from the Houston Independent School District after 23 years, and had just been officially hired by Rice University.  I'm now a year-round employee, no more two-and-a-half month summers.  I had just finished conducting a computer science camp for high school girls at Rice, and could only afford to take ten days or so this time, so we flew to the island, but still took lots of pictures while we were there.

Click on any of the images below to go to a series of pictures for that day.

The first couple of days on the island. A trip to the store.
Bycicling, another trip to the store, sunset pictures at Makonikey Head.
       A walking tour of Edgartown.
Oak Bluffs and the tiny cottages of the Methodist Campground.
       A walk around the neighborhood.
       A day at South Beach.

Heading back to Houston.  Darn it.
